Counter-intuitive Suggestions
It was recommended to me from the CEIBS alumnus that I buy my notebook PC here in the US and also to bring deodorant with me.
Don't they make all these computer parts in China? How could it be cheaper to buy here??
And the deodorant.. well.. Not sure if that should worry me or not! Perhaps american deodorant is stronger.. or deodorant scents are different. Gonna have to follow up on that one.

Actually, back in undergrad, a friend of a friend was from Shanghai. She was an interesting character. I don't know how the conversation started, but it somehow got onto deoderants. She mentioned that she doesn't wear any and that she didn't understand why Americans always use them. She looked at me and said, "Do you stink? I don't stink. I don't need deoderant. If you stink, then maybe you should use deoderant, but I don't. Maybe Americans stink, that's why they all wear deoderant." I just looked at my armpits and uttered, "Umm, no, I don't stink." So yeah, after that, I didn't try to talk to her ever again.
